Bye Bye google Adsense

While simply developing simple blog that most of the content are mostly from other blog google send me an acknowledgement email that my adsense account is suspended.

So, what i must to do now ? , yeah i've try many ads channel including clicksor and sitti , i think i need time to calm down. and My be I will not get back to google adsense, it just to hard for me to get $100 in 3 years.

It is hard to make a good original content and how to make it easier

While sharing experiences about seo with my colleagues, i realize that it is not easy to create content that originally from yourself. At least you will need some resources or expertise of what you talking about and you need to promote your content creation.

So, this is the key to ads in general, content and promotion. So how you can create a good original content ? you can start hunt old magazines out there which can be so cheap, buy it some. And get old articles that still can be applied in today condition. Or you can even copy and modify some other blog that you are interests in.

Secondly, you need to promote it in some forum, so everyone can see your links and maybe will read your page. And after that everything should be natural.

Everything is hard in the beginning and getting easier until you feel it not hard anymore and you will like fly on it. So go ahead take your first step and then learn to fly.

Online College, Why Not ?

I have run the kuliahpemrograman.co.cc ( now makkul.com ) for more than 2 years. It is not without reason i am running such blog, it is because i am also a tutor in some college here in jakarta.

It is my dream to have a foundation that publish or certify students in cooperate with soo many cybercafe in Indonesia. I see some kids are using computer just to play some online games, this is good for some people economy but doesn't really good for their next economy in the future.

I know it will be very hard to achieve, but lets walk step by step, because even i cannot reach my dream, some other people out there can hear me and maybe can start doing something to start open the way for me to have maybe online degree program here in Indonesia.

Today i get an information from some other blogs that google would not index .co.cc, this is a hard punch since i have a good enough ( at least in my opinion :) .co.cc domain.

When i check in google.com bar by typing site:kuliahpemrograman.co.cc , damn! he is right, google would not index .co.cc :(

So i must take an action. this is my future, this is my hobby that i must sacrifice for. So i buy makkul.com from google for $10/year.

I really hope that makkul.com will have good rate or even better in the future. ameen.

Hi, if you are using free domain .co.cc like me, maybe you are aware that your rank is goes down slowly. If you are not take action to it, then your blog will be left as history.

Then actually whats happening ? , it is actually .co.cc user using it as spamming machine or even trojan server that reduce our internet experiences by bugging us with unconsolidated spam email.

Well, this is not the owner of .co.cc who should responsible to stop this. But the user that must responsible for this. So, what i would do now is , i want to have a real dotcom domain for my blog so i can still easyly follow my blog within the office.

Today computers are more powerful, 3 GHz processor speed, memory two GigaByteand the lcd was already more affordable.

With these conditions, there is no reason not to install an OS other than windows, why?because the hosting usually provides linux / bsd is generally case sensitive, resulting inan application program can not be executed because the file considered does not exist.

Well, to overcome this. Install Virtual Machine like VMware or Virtual Box. then the above virtual machines that are easy to install linux for example Mandriva or Ubuntu.

Then try to install php mysql application of environmental linux / bsd will likely beproblematic in file naming.

Simple Service Checker : a Script that check is a Port open or Not

As Information Technology team support in my company, I must make sure the services are always in the good condition. In most simple way, the service should always on.

Linux has a tools called nmap, nmap can see which ports are open. So i can use this tool to make sure that my service is open.

for the first time i always use this 2 steps

$ sudo nmap myserver.ip | grep myservice
$ password:

So, instead of writing the line each time i want to check the service then i write it to a small file called checkservice.sh

We can get html content of Jquery object by using html(), this method will return child content of the object. So the workaround is wrap object into any element and get the element child :)

Hi, notepad++ is a real good editor for developer. It is fast,light,can handle so much programming languages and you can extend it by creating or adding plugin to it.

One of the most favorite plugin is FunctionList, this plugin will show function that you have in your source code.Neat. But sometimes, maybe you have found problem like me.
My function list is won't work. so how do i fix it ?

Does Google PageRank Count Anymore?

Being a full-time SEM (Search Engine Marketer) I have been conditioned like Pavlov's dog (not a pretty picture) to jump every time Google twitches. Lately Google has been doing a lot of twitching.

Specifically, the rather startling news from Google Webmaster Trends Analyst Susan Moskwa that Google has ditched PageRank from Webmaster Tools.

"We've been telling people for a long time that they shouldn't focus on PageRank so much; many site owners seem to think it's the most important metric for them to track, which is simply not true," states Moskwa. "We removed it because we felt it was silly to tell people not to think about it, but then to show them the data, implying that they should look at it." (Source: WebProNews)

Now, for SEO reasons or for ranking in Google's index, PageRank has long been eunuchified by Google. However, even missing a few dangling bits, history has shown us, eunuchs still wheel tremendous power. PageRank is no different.

Regardless of what Google wants to happen, PageRank is still extremely important to anyone marketing on the web, especially if you're selling SEO services or operating a web business. Try selling SEO services when that little green bar on your site is pointing to PR0 or worst yet, pointing to a solid gray bar.

Obtaining a high PR7 or PR8 simply means more business and revenues... regardless of how Google is or is not using PageRank. People know how to count and they learned long ago, a ten is a lot more than a big fat zero.

Placed against a PR1 site, a PR8 will win more respect in the eyes of potential clients and can produce enormous profíts for the site owner and we won't even mention the still widely practiced habit of selling links, which Google is desperately trying to stop. Total and full elimination of PageRank would be an honest start, but it will still be an uphill, if not an unwinnable battle, for Google to fully eliminate link selling.

Even with my modest sites, I have turned down a small fortune by not selling text links on any of my sites. When I had a PR6 site instead of a PR4 - those link requests were nearly doubled. So one can easily understand Google's position and the need to downplay PageRank, if they want to put even a small dent in all this link selling and buying, which is still running rampant on today's web.

PageRank is Google's creation, and unless they drop it fully from their system and the Google toolbar, then PageRank still Counts. Actually, in the whole scheme of marketing your website on the net, PageRank counts big time. And in more ways than one.

There are several reasons why you shouldn't count PageRank out.

For years Google has been downplaying the importance of PageRank and states it's only one of about 200 ranking factors which determine how Google ranks its index for keywords. Obtaining top organic rankings for popular lucrative keywords in Google simply means money in the bank. Actually, even a movement of only one or two places on those first page SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) can make a major difference to any online marketer's bottom line.

Now while you can have a lower PR number and still rank above other higher PR pages for your chosen keywords, I have even had many times when my PR drops but my actual SERPs rankings in Google goes up, mainly due to building related relevant backlinks. So PageRank counts little towards your keyword rankings, but it can't be totally dismissed.

Mainly because, even if PR is just one ranking factor, in close competitive keyword battles (I am presently fighting tooth and nail for some very choice keywords) just one ranking factor such as high PR can make the difference of whether or not you get to the top spot. Big dogs are still jumping and for those of us who know how to count, getting a number one spot in Google makes all the difference in the world.

Not only because Google controls roughly 80% of all search engine traffic, but more importantly Google has established unmatched credibility and brand recognition in the eyes of potential customers visiting your site. Web users trust Google. Web users look to Google for guidance and direction. Web users believe what Google is telling them. In the online world, rightly or wrongly, perception is everything.

As an online marketer, I am completely amazed each day at the marketing power Google now commands with web surfers and with the general population. Google is king of online search and no other search engine even comes close to Google.

PageRank is Google's ranking system, and in the eyes of those who notice these things, it still wields tremendous influence and power. By default, PageRank is Google's opinion of your site, and web users can count (at least to 10) and if Google believes people are still not counting when it comes to PageRank, then they are fully mistaken.

Adsense dari google memang sangat terkenal, ditayangan film dokumentasi televisi pernah saya lihat bahwa seorang anak muda dapat menghasilkan US 7500 setiap bulannya hanya dengan menuliskan review tentang elektronik alias gadget. Tentunya ini sangat menggiurkan, karena dengan hanya menuliskan review gadget - gadget maka akan mendapatkan penghasilan yang bisa dibilang sangat besar jika dilihat dari ukuran rata-rata penghasilan orang indonesia.

Adsense dan beberapa program affiliasi lain seperti amazon juga pernah dijadikan topik pembicaraan di kickandy, acara bincang - bincang yang dibawakan oleh editor senior metrotv bung andi f. noya. Tentunya ini semakin menjadikan internet semakin menarik bagi orang - orang yang pandai menulis atau dengan kata lain "cerewet" dalam menyalurkan tulisan - tulisannya :).

Sayangnya , adsense ini belum tersedia dalam bahasa indonesia, sehingga pada saat orang mendaftar menjadi publisher adsense maka harus memiliki konten berbahasa inggris (atau bahasa lain yang didukung). Ini tentunya menjadi masalah bagi sebagian besar orang yang tidak terbiasa menulis dalam bahasa inggris.

Alternatifnya adalah mengikuti Jaringan Iklan lokal yang mulai banyak berdiri sebagai akibat dari panetrasi Internet di Indonesia. Sayangnya, beberapa jaringan iklan lokal indonesia hanya diisi oleh iklan - iklan kualitas rendah seperti "cara cepat menjadi kaya","uang panas", "bobol atm" dan lain sebagainya yang sejenis. Jika anda termasuk orang yang tidak senang dengan iklan seperti ini tentu tidak cocok dengan ppcindo.com atau kumpulblogger.com yang sering mengiklankan konten iklan seperti ini ( mudah - mudahaan cepat berganti deh isinya ).

Dari beberapa review yang saya baca adonbanner.com dan biindit.com merupakan jaringan iklan indonesia yang cukup menjanjikan dan professional. Emulating PHP MySQL mysql_escape_string in OpenOffice

While maintaining data, I constantly using openoffice spreadsheet to create query then executing the queries in phpmyadmin or other tools like mysql query browser, mysqlfront or heidysql.

Small problem came when i touched with some string contained ' (aposthrope), well it is easy when executing it in php, but in OpenOffice spreadsheet that is another case. So I create a small script emulating the famous mysql_escape_string. Here is the code. The code working beautifully for me.

Keyword Spy

After reading a post on republika.co.id about other cool search engine beside google, i am trying to use one of it. Spyfu.com is a keyword search engine, it has keyword analytics inside. For me, this website has alot insight me on creating such articles that have more keyword inside it.

Rather than use payed software, i will use this search engine instead. Well, not just because it is easy to use but also because I still believe in free as beer :).

So, why not start find keyword and try write some articles based on it then make some money. wish me luck!

Yes. Finally my site can be rated by alexa.com. While i was searching why alexa cannot rate .co.cc domain, I fortunately get mr. madura site that said .co.cc now rated by alexa. It is something that i've been waiting for.

Sometimes when a web application became main application, it should works like desktop standard application. And my case now is, executing php script that takes time. So, i try to figure it out by searching here and there.

Using PHP and Resin as MySQL Web Console

Like my previous write on using PHP as MySQL simple backup. This write
is also will use the same kind of technique which use shell_exec to run
OS command and/or application console.

MySQL came with such console tool for administration called mysqladmin.
By Using this tool,we can manage PID of query that identifed slow and takes time.
It is easy to use this tool. But it would be nicer if you can also have this
kind of tools accessed through http.

Resin is a JSP/Servlet webserver but it also has support for php called quercus.
In this project we will use resin as our webserver.The reason is easy,
if an application which run on top of apache become slow
we can still manage to access resin based web application and kill
MySQL slow PID, so we don't need to restart the whole mysql processes.

First, test the mysqladmin command

> mysqladmin -u root processlist

If you have mysqladmin on your path and correctly type the command, it will show
a list of query process.

PHP is very powerfull, and apache definetely a very good webserver.
But sometimes people will still need to use windows and IIS as their
base of application. May be they have spent hours using ASP, a
nd they won't move instantly. But , whatever you want to do with PHP on IIS
this is the way how to do it.

Install XAMPP - For simplicity
copy php folder of xampp to c:\ (SYSTEM ROOT)
Add php path to PATH Variable of System variables.System variables accessed through MyComputer->Properties->Advanced->System Variables
Add php5isapi.dll to iis, open Internet Information Manager from Control Panel->Computer Manager

Perhatian : Artikel ini menggunakan linux sebagai host dan Windows sebagai Guest di VirtualBox

Sebagai pengguna virtualbox tentu kita ingin agar file - file yang dihasilkan didalam Guest OS dapat dikeluarkan ke host os dan sebaliknya, apabila da file yang diperlukan dapat dengan mudah didownload ke guest OS.

FTP Server Sebagai penyelamat
Sampai saat ini saya masih gagal menggunakan fungsi Folder Share di VirtualBox, padahal akses keluar masuk file sangat penting. Entah VirtualBox yang saya gunakan bermasalah atau saya yang bermasalah :p, sehingga saya mencoba menggunakan ftp server.

Di linux untungnya, ip selalu aktif walaupun kabel tidak dihubungkan ke port jaringan sehingga saya tetap bisa menggunakan fungsi jaringan. Di Windows saya tidak bisa menggunakan fungsi ini.

Install FTP Server

sudo apt-get install ftp

Penggunaan

Didalam guest os (windows), kita dapat menggunakan filezilla untuk mengakses file di host os. Cukup gunakan user,password dan ip host os. pastikan ip yang dimaksud adalah ip host os anda dan bukan ip gateway internal guest os. Djiamin, akan langsung lancar.

PHP Simple Backup

As a Developer we need a backup. As a Database Administrator we alse need backup.Backup is an important thing to do when we deploy any kind of application especially to the database at the backend.

PHP and MySQL are powerfull, many developer choose them as their platform.
In the term of backup MySQL has an application called mysqldump which can be used as backup engine.Together with PHP,OS batch function and scheduler function we can create a simple yet effective backup for our MySQL database.

Database Dumping
First of all create a command that dump database to a file.
For this function we can use mysqldump - a tools shipped within package of mysql.

here is the code :

mysqldump -u root -p password databasename > database.sql

I believe the code are obvious.

Compressing
Next step after dumped file created, we need to compress it so the size will not eat our diskspace. In windows we can use 7zip, or tar if you using linux. Here is the example of 7Zip and tar.

7zip database.sql database.zip

tar -czvf database.tar.gz database.sql

Wrap it up in a PHP file
Right after we proof that the code was working, then we cummulate those code
within php file. PHP has a function that allow us to execute string to console.
The functions are shell_exec or exec.

Here is the php code :

In Windows, we cannot just execute php file. We need to create a batch file (.bat) that can be executed as schedule task.The batch file actually just have one line that invoke php-cli which executing backup script.

My Favorit Text Editors

Crimson Editor
Crimson Editor was my first favorit text editor. It was not only because it's power but also becouse of my computer knowledge background is windows.
Crimson Editor is a good text editor, colored text,line numbering, support many
programming languages and easily add support to any languages. It has custom shortcut command which I can use to compile and and run java.

Notepad++
Still in windows world, this is another my favorit text editor. Keypoint feature is simple text resizer by using "ctrl + mouse scroller". This is a goot feature if you are a lecturer that need to show your desktop on the projector so everybody in the class will see the text without have to pitch their eyes.

Geany
Geany is a good text editor. I really love it. It is definetely fusion of gedit and kate. Geany help me alot, and i like it not only because it's functionality but also the gnome look and feel that i miss from kate.Despite its functionality, somehow it has lack on refresh rate,especially when i open large code.

Until now i still use all tree of them, and I can still use notepad++ using wine on linux.

Web Application Printing Strategy II

On my first write, I told 5 ways about how to add print support to a web application. And this is the 4th way in detail about how to do that.

4. Print Text Using Separate software handler. (Customer MIME Handler)

We can do this by using windows client behaviour that associate file to sort of application. So, this is the steps to do that.

Create data format which will be printed. and what i have done was , adding some binaries character to text data. So I will have "some binary char + som text to print"

Create application which will be associated to data format.The job of the application is print data every time it open or accept any data file. In my case , I have create it using visual basic. I will include the application here next time.

Associate data file with application by open it.
if you using windows, you can easily do that by :
- double clicking the file
- windows will ask what application to use
- then pick the application you've created.

After this, the association created between your custom file and custome application will be also valid on web browser. So, when web browser download some dataformat/file that same with your custom data file it will redirect to your custom application and it will print your report.

Hibernate Fool Error : Mistyped URL Connection

I was trying to use hibernate. In The first project i can use hibernate smoothly. But on the second one I get these error which i thought doesn't make any sense. In my Opinion , Hibernate/JDBC driver Must know if database URI is mistyped.

Here is the error messages

It says that it can not find database Driver, but the fact it already use. And the solution is , I actually Mis the : (double colon).
